Destinations like crazy Cancun, platinum Panama City Beach, lewd Las Vegas and super South Padre Island are great candidates for wild times, however, I’ve got something else in mind. Take a trip over the pond to have a grande fiesta in Spain, the coolest country in Europe. It’s like Mexico, only less trashy. And the local women don’t have STD’s.

Here is a list of some of the coolest must visit locations in any Spanish adventure. The listed cities all meet the mandatory spring break criteria: lots of women, lots of bars open till sunrise, cool shit to see, good food, affordability, and lots of beaches.

Barcelona

Barcelona is the vacation destination city for all of Europe. Why? Because it is the shit. There is a mountain range on one side of the city, the Mediterranean coast lined with topless beaches on the other, and crazy architecture bursting with bars and eateries in between. Walking through the streets of the old part of Barcelona during will give you goose bumps, and partying all night in one of the hundreds of amazing clubs will cause your heart to throb, all while being surrounded by beautiful Catalan women.

Spots to Hit Up:

Bar Marseilles

It is off the beaten path, but every local knows where it is, so ask around. It is one of the oldest absinthe bars in the world, and was a favorite drinking hole for Earnest Hemingway. Step inside Bar Marseilles and you will feel like you are in Hemmingway’s era; it is unlikely that any changes have been made to the interior since it’s opening.

La Cathedral Tibidabo

It is the most recognizable landmark in Barcelona besides La Segrada Familia. Located on the top of Mount Tibidabo, the cathedral is a sight to see up close. You can get there by bus or by train, and when you do you will be able to see every inch of Barcelona and beyond. I’m not one to tell people to go see a church while on spring break because I myself would rather be drinking, but visiting this cathedral is way worth it.

La Playa de Barcelona

Most major cities don’t have a beach, and those that do don’t have a beach as cool as Barcelona’s.  Not only are there clubs and bars in every direction, but there are also hoards of topless women walking around. It is a sight to behold, and once you see it you will proclaim your love of Spain and of Barcelona.

Las Palmas De Mallorca

Las Palmas De Mallorca is the biggest city on the island of Mallorca, which is right next to Ibiza. We have all heard how awesome Ibiza is, but believe me Mallorca is better. Hotels are cheaper, the beaches are cleaner and because Air Berlin runs dirt - cheap flights from Germany to the island, there are Germans everywhere. This means there is good beer and food in abundance.

Spots to hit up:

Platja de Palma

It is why you go to Mallorca. It is a massive beach ideal for laying out and soaking up some sun. Kicking back on this beach is extremely similar to lounging on a Mexican beach, except that in Platja de Palmas, people speak German, the beer is stronger and the landscape is far better.

Clubs

There is a multitude of nightclubs in the Palmas De Mallorca area. As in all parts of Spain, they are open until the sun rises. What makes these clubs unique is that they strictly cater to the German tourists. This means that you can be sitting in a Spanish nightclub drinking hearty brew or Jagermeister from a stein while watching Flamenco dancers interpret heavy techno. It’s a dream come true, and you won’t find it anywhere but Mallorca.

San Sebastian

San Sebastian, the birthplace of tapas cuisine, is a picturesque city located on the north coast of Spain in Basque country. It is not a crazy tourist city bursting with debauchery; it is more of a place to decompress and take in amazing scenery. But as we all know, alcohol can be worked into any equation, and San Sebastian is no exception.

Spots to hit up:

Paseo De La Concha

A massive boardwalk surrounding the Bay De La Concha, is one of the coolest spots in Europe. The beauty of the bay is hard to describe, but if you imagine the bay from the movie “The Beach”, it sort of looks like that, but with ornate Spanish office and apartment buildings surrounding it.

Any Tapas Bar

Doesn't matter where, in San Sebastian will hook you up with some of the best and freshest food you’ve ever eaten. There are literally hundreds of tapas bars scattered throughout the city, and they are easy to recognize. You will see plates upon plates of tasty tapas treats lined across their service bars, and dozens of locals standing around the platters devouring the delicious food while sipping beer.

Parque Urgull

It is quite possibly the coolest park in Spain. It is located on the side of a mountain that borders the Atlantic Ocean. Climbing up the windy passage to the top of the mountain, you will pass old WW2 defense guns and hidden cavern passages that lead to nowhere. When at the top, you will discover an ancient castle that you can explore freely without having to pay an entrance fee. It’s unreal, and you couldn’t ask for anything cooler.

Seville

This city is a definite wild card for any spring break fiesta. It is the Spanish equivalent to Disney Land. The streets are narrow and wind through century-old buildings. The inhabitants talk in a distinct and unique way, emphasizing words with more authority and pronouncing vowels with theatrically intense passion.  And there is a multitude of girls traveling abroad from Canada and America alike, who flock to Seville for its romantic charm. So if you were looking to get laid on this trip, Seville is the place to zoom an eager sorority girl from an Ivy League school looking for romance. And the sangria is really strong.

Spots to hit up:

Go See a Bullfight

Seville is known as one of the most traditional Spanish cities, so it’s only natural that it has the best bull-fighting arena. Some find bull fighting cruel and unusual, others say it is an honorable way for the bull to die. Either way, that steer is going to be dinner, so what’s the difference?
