The TV industry is still feeling the effects this summer of the 3 month writer hiatus last winter. With scripts on the backburner and new shows nowhere to be found, this summer's television climate is leaving us with very few new episodes of our new addictions and old favorites. One series, new to the game last summer, that barely made it through the strike is TBS' original program My Boys. The show follows P.J., a female sportswriter living in Chicago who has a strong affection to the Northsider Cubbies and a group of friends made nearly entirely out of guys. A smart comedy that both sexes can appreciate, we had the opportunity of sitting down with three of 'the boys' (Kyle Howard, Reid Scott, Michael Bunin) to talk about the new season, mob tactics, and a potential Actor's Strike on the horizon.

With the new season just starting up, what can fans look forward to this go around?
Michael:  We just wrapped shooting on the last episode two days ago. This new season, the writers really dove deeper into the other characters. So there are more storylines in the shows, funnier situations.
Reid:   Plus tons of guest stars. I can't tell you who, but as the season goes on you'll see some people and it should be good.

The show has a lot to do with sports, such as the Cubs and MLB. Are you guys big baseball fans?

Reid:   I love sports, and it being apart of the show makes it that much better for me.
Michael:   (10 Minutes Cubs Conversation)  But we can't really talk about baseball that much when Kyle is around.
Kyle:   Yeah, not really my thing.

What are you into?
Kyle:   I go surfing a lot. Stuff like that.
Michael:   Yeah, Kyle is a lot cooler than the rest of us.

Did the writers strike really effect this second season of My Boys?

Reid:   Yeah, definitely. The writers for our show were actually supposed to go back to work the day they started striking.
Michael:   So instead of going to work on the second season, they hit the picket lines. We marched right there with them when we could.
Reid:   But you don't even realize how much it effected. Every industry was sort of shadowed by it. Restaraunts, retail – everything sort of went into a depression.
Micheal:  We're just hoping there isn't an actors strike now.

Is there the potential for an Actors Strike?
Micheal:   Yeah. Our union is talking about it.
Reid:   Over the same sort of stuff, internet and everything.
Michael:   We’re hoping it doesn't come to it, so that we can go do other jobs now that [My Boys] finished shooting for the season.

Speaking of internet, Myspace or Facebook?

Reid:   I'm on Myspace and I always answer everything, just me. Some guy from TBS offered to redo the design to make it look nice.
Michael:   I have a Facebook page.
Reid:   Have you guys ever heard of this MobWars thing on Facebook?
Michael:   [Laugh]  Oh it's the best.
Reid:   This guy comes in every morning and it's like, oh what did you do last night? And he's all, I bought some new guns and punched a guy who was in the hospital.
Michael:  Because you can't kill them if their in the hospital, only beat them.
Kyle:   It's sick.

Being a college magazine, we like asking people about their college years?
Michael:   I went to UNLV. It was a crazy time, that's for sure.
Reid:   I went to Syracuse. Had a lot of fun. It was a big sports school so Football, Basketball, always a big deal.
Michael:  Yeah, we sucked at Football. But I was down there when they won the National Championships in Basketball. That was a blast.
Kyle:   I'm just living the dream.
Michael:  Kyle went to the school of life.
Kyle:  [Laugh] Yeah, I mean I always just figured you'd go to college to get a job. But I was already working in Hollywood and sort of had a job, so it didn't make sense.

What do you think of when you hear the word 'boosh'?

Kyle:  Like douche?
Reid:  I think of some grizzled old Vietnam vet. Like "I spent six years out in the boosh"
Kyle:  My college years. I used to work nights at a casino and I'd see people just trashed all the time. So sometimes we'd have to go kick them out. They were booshed.

You can catch Kyle, Reid, and Michael on My Boys with new episodes all summer Thursdays at 8:30 on TBS. Or you can always see full episodes TBS On Demand and TBS.com.

And keep it here as we bring you news as it comes in on the potential SAG strike which will be decided after the 4th of July weekend.
